My Project

My 6th-grade students at Add B. Anderson School in West Philadelphia are resilient, hardworking, and eager to learn. Despite facing challenges, they show up every day with determination and a drive to improve. They deserve a learning environment that supports their efforts and helps them succeed.

The items I’m requesting—headphones and cubbies—will make a meaningful impact on their daily learning experience.

Right now, my students share headphones, which creates distractions and limits their ability to fully engage with individual lessons, especially during technology-based activities. With their own headphones, they can focus better and dive deeper into personalized learning, like math games and educational videos.

Additionally, the cubbies will provide each student with a dedicated space to store their belongings. Since we don’t have lockers, students currently share or carry items all day, which can lead to disorganization and distractions. Having their own cubby will not only help them stay organized but also give them a sense of ownership and responsibility.

My goal for this project is to create a classroom where students feel valued and empowered to learn. These items will foster independence, reduce stress, and help build the skills they need to succeed—not just academically but personally as well.

Every small step helps my students grow, and I believe these resources will make a lasting difference in their education and self-confidence. Thank you for considering supporting my incredible students!
