Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching at a Title I-funded school in a high-needs area presents unique challenges and incredible opportunities. My 8th grade social studies classroom is filled with eager and bright students who are ready to learn, but we often lack the necessary resources to fully engage them in hands-on, cooperative learning activities. The specific items I’m requesting will make a significant difference in their learning by providing the tools and materials needed to create a dynamic and interactive classroom environment. With these supplies, I can design and implement activities that promote teamwork, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of historical concepts.

Our goal for this project is to foster a love of learning and collaboration among students by making history come alive through engaging, hands-on projects.

By integrating these resources into our daily lessons, we can enhance student engagement and ensure that every student has the opportunity to participate fully and succeed. These supplies will also help my classroom run smoothly, making it easier to manage transitions and maintain an organized learning space. Ultimately, this project aims to bridge the gap between our students’ potential and the resources available to them, providing the support they need to thrive academically.

What makes my students special is their incredible resilience and enthusiasm for learning despite the challenges they face. They are eager to explore new ideas and work together to solve problems, and they deserve the best possible education we can provide.
