My Project

In the speech therapy classroom, technology is not just a tool—it's a gateway to progress and engagement for our high school students. As a speech-language pathologist working with middle and high school students, I’ve found that hands-on activities, especially those delivered through interactive games and digital platforms, are key to keeping students engaged and motivated. However, our current setup, which includes only one desktop computer for up to five students, severely limits our ability to involve everyone simultaneously in these crucial activities.

Additionally, our therapy office serves as a safe haven for students during lunch or other classes that might be too overwhelming due to noise or stimulation.

During these times, students often need access to computers to work on class assignments, which are increasingly digital. Unfortunately, the lack of adequate technology hinders their ability to stay on track academically and therapeutically.

To truly support our students' progress, we urgently need additional devices that will allow all students to participate fully in therapy activities. Furthermore, having a color printer is essential for creating engaging materials and enabling students to print their work, which adds a tangible sense of accomplishment and aids in their learning. By equipping our speech therapy office with the necessary technology, we can create an environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive, both in therapy and in their academic pursuits.
