I teach a group of wonderful 2nd graders. All 22 of my students receive free lunch and my class is a general education class with two ESL students.
This year I want to give my students more opportunities to spark their creativity in our classroom.
During the past few years, I have heard many times a day "Can I use your iPad?" It saddens me when I forget to bring my personal iPad or have to limit the time students can use it. So I thought of this project.
My students will benefit from this project because it will allow us to have more portable learning devices in the classroom easing my current iPad sharing limitations. I am pleased and excited that my students want to engage with technology and I want to be able to provide these opportunities.
The iPads listed in my project will enable me to have more iPads available for my students. It will also allow me to personalize each student's learning experience. The iPads give students the opportunity to change the way they interact with each other and their teachers. I have tried to manage my personal iPad for students to use in the classroom, but it is not enough. Students tend to get discouraged when they want to use it and it is unavailable.
I have observed every year how my students love technology and want to be able to use it to learn every day. Having iPads in the classroom will increase engagement and provide additional digital learning experiences. Students can work together on projects, share ideas and present their thoughts to each other. The iPad provides a modern way to learn and interact with the world.
