Empowering Students: Tools for Emotional Regulation and Focus in Learning

Help me give my students the tools to support them in regulating emotions and behaviors, keeping them in an optimal state for learning, and providing sensory input, structure, and engagement, fostering focus, self-control, and readiness for academic success.

My Project

Starting school for the first time can be overwhelming for young children, especially those with special needs. The materials I’ve chosen are carefully selected to provide comfort, sensory regulation, and emotional support as they adjust to this major transition.

Soft, squishy toys offer a soothing tactile experience, helping children manage stress and self-soothe in moments of anxiety.

Sticker book activities provide a calming and engaging way to develop focus, fine motor skills, and a sense of accomplishment. The vibrating pillow offers deep pressure and gentle sensory input, helping children regulate their emotions and stay calm in a stimulating environment.

These materials create a safe and supportive space where my students can gradually build confidence, manage their emotions, and remain in their optimal state for learning. By addressing their sensory and emotional needs, we empower them to navigate this new journey with comfort, stability, and joy.
