My Students

Can you imagine your day without the little extras: Music, art, dance, and technology? Well, my students can.

My fourth grade students are eager to learn and are always expressing themselves in different ways.

We have a total of twenty-nine students with very diverse needs. They are a wonderful group of students, and I love that I get to be their teacher. The majority of my students receive free lunch. With limited time devoted to the arts, my students are missing the chance to have the arts empower them. Since my school doesn't provide students with the extra curricular activities such as art, dance, or music class, they don't have the chance to be exposed to the arts.

My Project

Providing my fourth grade students with Chromebooks will be a way of empowering them with a center dedicated to the arts. With this technology, the students will have the opportunity to explore different styles of art. For example, on Mondays the center can be focused around different types of cultural dances. Having the students exploring the web to learn the choreography of the cultural dance and the history behind it. On another day, the center can be focused on famous painters from our history. Using the Chromebooks, my students will be able to take virtual tours of museums that they wouldn't have the opportunity to go see. Every day the center will have a different focus relating to the arts.

Having these Chromebooks will provide my students the opportunity to engage in these extracurricular activities that they don't have the chance to receive.

This will change my students lives for the better because they will be exposed to the arts and have a variety of opportunities to learn different styles of art.
