My Project

In my classroom, I work with students who have diverse learning needs, including those who require text-to-speech accommodations due to visual impairments, learning disabilities, or other challenges. These accommodations are essential to ensure equal access to educational content and assessments, enabling students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills without barriers.

However, our current resources are limited, and we often face challenges in providing adequate support for every student.

While we have some text-to-speech software available on computers, it is not always practical or convenient, especially during exams or when working with printed materials. The C Pen Text-to-Speech Exam Readers offer a portable and user-friendly solution that empowers students to independently access printed text wherever they are, whether in the classroom, library, or at home.

To address the needs of my students, I am requesting funding to purchase two C Pen Text-to-Speech Exam Readers. These handheld devices are designed specifically for students with reading difficulties and offer the following features:

Portable and Lightweight: The C Pen Exam Readers are compact and easy to carry, allowing students to use them wherever they go, both in and out of the classroom.

Instant Text-to-Speech Conversion: With a simple scan of the pen over printed text, the device instantly converts the text into speech, providing immediate auditory feedback to students.

User-Friendly Interface: The pens have intuitive controls that are easy for students to navigate independently, promoting self-reliance and confidence in their learning.

Exam Mode: The Exam Reader version of the pen ensures compliance with testing regulations by disabling certain features, such as the dictionary function, to maintain test integrity.

By providing my students with access to C Pen Text-to-Speech Exam Readers, we can make significant strides in promoting their academic success and independence.
