My Project

Through so many changes, losses, and uncertainties throughout the pandemic, my students persevered and attended school to the best of their ability. Coming back into the classroom at the start of the year, I have seen learning losses like no other and even the love of learning dwindling from my students. I made it my mission to ignite the curiosity, excitement and drive within my students for learning.

My classroom library has been a safe space for students to critically think, collaborate with peers, practice reading skills and even just escape in a book and fall in love with reading again.

These books will add to my library, so that my learners have stories they see themselves in; stories that empower them to ask questions, connect to the real world and develop skills a life long learner needs. The learning tools, such as the journals and highlighters, will be used daily for intentional reflections and lessons year long.

I have already seen such growth from my students and I want to continue fostering that love for learning through books that they not only enjoy, but can learn from; connect with; and empower them to be the leaders of our future.
