At our school in the heart of Chicago, we're committed to nurturing a passion for reading that opens doors to lifelong learning. Our school serves a community where all students are low-income, receive free lunches, and face financial challenges. Our classroom library stands as a gateway to empowerment, but it's time to enhance it for our deserving students. We're reaching out for your generous support to acquire new books in Spanish for our newcomers from Venezuela.
The Spanish books we're requesting will be a game-changer for our Venezuelan students; and they'll serve as a bridge between their native language and English, boosting their bilingual literacy.
These books will also expose them to diverse cultures, nurturing a love for reading and learning.
Our goals are to promote bilingual literacy, celebrate our students' cultural heritage, instill a love for learning, and strengthen our classroom community through shared reading experiences.
Our students' resilience, diversity, and eagerness to learn make them truly special. They bring a unique perspective and enrich our classroom with their courage and determination, reminding us of the power of education and the human spirit.
