Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My class is a group of high school students with autism working at the school store as part of their vocational training. My goal is to teach valuable work skills to help my young adults transition to the workforce, but we need some help to make this learning experience more effective and engaging.

We are requesting a new iPad, keyboard, and stylus to use as part of our daily activities at the school store.

The iPad will serve several essential purposes, such as inventory management, Interactive Learning Activities, a sign in/ out system, simplify checkout and more!

We’ll use the iPad to track store inventory, scan items, and keep track of what’s in stock. This will help us develop organizational and technology skills that are valuable in many workplaces. We’ll also use apps and programs that are designed for students with autism to practice communication, math, and problem-solving skills in a fun and interactive way. This hands-on learning will enhance our ability to succeed both at the store and in other work environments. The iPad will also allow us to independently sign in and out of our workstations, helping us develop responsibility and time-management skills, essential for any job.

With the iPad, our learning opportunities will expand significantly, and we will be better equipped to learn essential work-related skills, communication techniques, and independent living skills. We are excited about this opportunity and hope you can help us make this project a reality.

Thank you for supporting our growth and success as we prepare for the future!
