This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My basketball players are talented, hardworking, and determined young women who are committed to their growth both on and off the court. However, many of them lack access to financial education that is crucial for their futures, especially as they navigate potential athletic scholarships, college decisions, and their financial independence. My goal is to provide my players with the tools they need to make informed financial decisions that will impact their lives beyond sports.

The iPad I am requesting will serve as a powerful teaching tool, allowing us to explore interactive financial literacy apps, watch educational videos, and work on hands-on budgeting and financial planning exercises tailored to their unique needs as student-athletes.

With this technology, I can introduce engaging, real-world scenarios that will help them understand concepts like managing scholarship funds, budgeting for college expenses, saving for the future, and investing wisely. This iPad will make learning accessible, visual, and relevant, providing my players with the skills and knowledge they need to take control of their financial futures.

My goal is to empower these young women with the financial skills necessary to thrive in college and beyond, helping them to build a strong foundation for their personal and professional lives. What makes my players special is their drive and resilience; they are constantly pushing themselves to excel, and I want to give them every opportunity to succeed not just in sports, but in every aspect of their lives.
