Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At my school, 80% of students are learning English as a second language. A significant proportion of them have also experienced past gaps in their education due to socioeconomic factors. They don’t let this dampen their eagerness to learn, however. My students have a passion to improve themselves academically. Eagerness aside, this learning can be a bit challenging in a class where each individual student has different linguistic abilities and is working on a different level of math proficiency! To remedy this obstacle, my classroom harnesses the power of digital learning platforms to bridge gaps in student comprehension, using tools that offer multi-lingual support and personalized learning paths tailored to each student's unique needs. We have the laptops to make this possible, but we are currently lacking a charging cart for our devices…

With a single laptop charging cart, we can light up 32 avenues of opportunity every single day!

Reliable access to charged laptops is pivotal in ensuring that these platforms continue to play an instrumental role in my students’ different learning journeys. My goal for this project is to provide uninterrupted digital learning experiences for every student, ensuring that they are consistently engaged with the material in a classroom where every student has the opportunity to be met at their own level. This laptop cart will not only secure our physical devices, but also my students’ access to a 21st century classroom.
