My Project

As a high school senior Business English teacher, I strive to equip my students with the skills and mindset needed for success in the business world and beyond. To enhance their learning experience, I want to implement book circles, where students engage in meaningful discussions centered around some of the most influential business books. These books will introduce them to powerful concepts like leadership, financial literacy, personal development, and success habits, helping them build a strong foundation for their futures.

I am requesting ten copies of each of the following books to support my students in their book circle discussions:

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie,

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey,

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

With ten copies of each book, students will work in small groups, diving deep into the key lessons of each book, analyzing real-world applications, and connecting these ideas to their own aspirations.

Students will form book circles, each focusing on one book.

They will meet weekly to discuss key takeaways, reflect on personal applications, and challenge each other with thought-provoking questions. They will also keep a journal of how they apply these lessons in their daily lives. Each group will present a final project to the class, summarizing their book’s main concepts, sharing personal takeaways, and explaining how they can apply these lessons to their future careers.

This project will expose students to life-changing principles that they can carry into college, entrepreneurship, and their future careers. By reading and discussing these powerful books, they will develop critical thinking, communication skills, and a success-oriented mindset.
