My Project

In today’s rapidly evolving world, our students are facing unprecedented challenges. The confluence of climate change, ecological loss, and pandemic diseases not only impacts their physical environment but also their mental and emotional landscapes. The lives of our current cohort of students have been particularly shaped by these pressures. As an educator, I believe in the transformative power of literature to help students navigate these complex issues, offering them insights, empathy, and resilience.

I am seeking to bring a new perspective into my classroom through the novel How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu.

This novel, with its poignant exploration of humanity's response to a future shaped by climate change and pandemics, serves as a perfect catalyst for deep discussion and reflection among my students. To achieve this, I am aiming to raise funds to purchase 25 copies of the novel, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to engage with this important work.
