My Project

My students are truly special—each one brings a unique perspective, communicating both verbally and non-verbally, and teaching me new ways to connect, learn, and find joy every day. Their love of learning fuels my passion for teaching, and I am committed to providing the resources they need to thrive.

The items in this project will help create differentiated instruction tailored to each student's needs.

A laminator, laminating sheets, card stock, and Velcro dots will allow me to craft tactile, durable learning materials to support students with mild to moderate disabilities. These materials will help students grasp new concepts through interactive activities that incorporate visual, tactile, and auditory supports. For example, hands-on matching games and visual schedules will help students with Autism engage and learn more effectively.

Noise-canceling headphones will provide a calm, focused environment for students who experience overstimulation during the academic day, enabling them to concentrate and feel secure. Headphones with microphones will empower students with pre-emergent writing skills to share their thoughts verbally, building confidence as they see their words come to life on paper.

The goal of this project is to replenish essential classroom supplies to continue supporting my students' individual learning needs. By providing these tools, I can ensure that each student has access to differentiated, tactile learning opportunities to grow academically and socially.
