This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Math is challenging, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be fun! Interactive math notebooks twist traditional learning by engaging students in hands-on activities, stimulating their knowledge and critical thinking skills. Instead of handing a student a big workbook with big words and lots of information, my students glue handouts, foldables, and graphic organizers that make it easier for them to digest, understand, and learn mathematics. These notebooks encourage active class participation and enable students to share their ideas and strategies. I want to be able to provide students with these supplies so they don't feel the pressure to deliver their supplies.

Continuously, unlike a lecture-style classroom, my class is student-driven!

The whiteboard markers and erasers can allow students to explain their math strategies to their classmates, fix their mistakes, and have fun with them quickly! Continuously, we use whiteboards in class to play fun math games where teams can quickly write down their answer and promptly erase them without the pressure of writing them correctly. This provides students with the confidence and enthusiasm to learn mathematics. It gives students another platform for them to express their math knowledge.

The other supplies, such as pencils, glue sticks, erasers, and tissues, are for students to have everything readily available as soon as they enter the classroom. My students come from a low socio-economic background and struggle to get the essential tools needed for class. I wish all my students feel welcomed and supported with everything they need to succeed in class. I would greatly appreciate any support to help me help my students! Thank you!
