This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Books about Afghanistan will provide students with a unique opportunity to engage in thoughtful discussions within book clubs, fostering deeper understanding of the social and political challenges faced by people in the region. By reading and discussing these stories, students will gain insight into global issues like conflict, resilience, and human rights, encouraging empathy and awareness. This knowledge will not only enrich their personal growth but also empower them to critically analyze social issues happening around the world.

Graphic novels about Afghanistan offer a powerful visual storytelling approach that can greatly support readers who need extra assistance.

The combination of illustrations and text helps break down complex social and historical topics, making them more accessible and engaging. This format can improve comprehension, spark interest in global issues, and provide a relatable entry point for students who might struggle with traditional text-heavy books.
