Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I have had more and more girls getting their period! I try to support my 5th graders and their changing bodies by having open conversations with them about their bodies and changes they might be experiencing.

They have learned to be proud of their bodies but also how to take care of them.

My goal for this project is to have my classroom closet stocked with supplies they might need. This includes pads, wipes, deodorant, and of course- some comfort snacks!

My students are incredibly diverse with a variety of experiences and identities to bring to the table. But they all have one thing in common: they love school; for it is a place they feel safe, welcomed, and supported.
