My Project

In a world where literacy is the key to unlocking endless possibilities, my mission as an educator is to bridge the gap for my underserved high school students. I am reaching out to the DonorsChoose community to request support for stocking my classroom library with novel sets that will ignite a passion for reading in these special students.

Fostering a Love for Reading: My primary goal is to instill a love for reading in my students.

By providing a diverse selection of novels, we aim to create a vibrant reading environment that encourages exploration and imagination.

Improving Literacy Skills: I am committed to improving my students' literacy skills. Through guided reading sessions and book club discussions, we will work on comprehension, critical thinking, and analysis, which are crucial for their academic success and personal growth.

Expanding Horizons: Many of my students have limited access to books outside of school. By enriching our classroom library, we aim to broaden their horizons, introduce them to different cultures, and inspire a lifelong thirst for knowledge.

Novel Sets Requested: To achieve these goals, I am seeking your support to acquire novel sets that cater to our high school audience. The selected novels include contemporary young adult fiction, classic literature, and books that reflect the diversity of our students.

What Makes My Students Special: My students come from diverse backgrounds, often facing economic hardships and limited access to educational resources. Despite these challenges, they are resilient, curious, and eager to learn. They have the potential to achieve greatness, and I believe that access to quality literature is integral to their education.
