My Project

My students come from various backgrounds, with many speaking English as a second language, and they are eager to learn, but often lack access to high-interest books that reflect their unique experiences. This project will provide them with a diverse selection of books that will captivate their attention and ignite a passion for reading. They read independently every day in my room and we are running out of good novels!

The books I’m requesting are carefully selected to meet their interests and reading levels.

By providing access to exciting, culturally relevant materials, my students will be able to engage with literature in a meaningful way. These books will foster critical thinking, build vocabulary, and promote empathy through diverse narratives!

My goal for this project is to create a classroom library that encourages lifelong reading habits, helps students build confidence in their reading skills, and connects them to stories they can relate to. They love to discuss their books, and these high-interest titles will help them.
