My Project

How will the specific items you’re requesting make a difference in their learning?

The English-Spanish picture dictionaries, trade books in English, and Spanish and Portuguese English dictionaries are essential tools for our ESL students.

The picture dictionaries will visually reinforce vocabulary learning, making it accessible and engaging for visual learners. Trade books in various levels of English proficiency will encourage reading for pleasure and improvement of comprehension skills. These resources collectively support differentiated learning needs, enabling personalized and effective language acquisition.

What are your goals for this project?

Our primary goal is to enhance our students' English language proficiency, making them confident communicators in both oral and written forms. By integrating these resources, we aim to foster a love for reading and learning, improve comprehension and vocabulary, and support students in becoming active participants in their educational journey. Ultimately, we want to equip our students with the linguistic skills necessary for academic success and meaningful engagement in their community.

Coming from various cultural backgrounds, they bring unique perspectives that enrich our classroom discussions and learning environment. Their dedication to mastering a new language, often while navigating the challenges of adapting to a new culture, is inspirational. These resources will not only validate their efforts and cultural heritage but also empower them to share their voices more confidently, contributing to a more inclusive and vibrant classroom community.
