Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are remarkable in their resilience. Coming from low-income households, many face daily challenges, yet they show incredible perseverance and a strong desire to learn. Some of them have experienced breast cancer in their families, making this project deeply personal. By providing these resources, we aim to offer them an opportunity to be heard, to express their support, and to find hope and empowerment. These materials will help them take ownership of the cause, fostering both personal growth and community awareness.

The goals for this project are twofold: to educate students about breast cancer awareness and prevention while fostering empathy and support for those affected by the disease.

Additionally, it aims to empower students with the tools to advocate for health and wellness within their families and communities. We want to build their understanding of breast cancer, encourage healthy habits, and inspire them to be agents of change.

The pens, ribbons, stickers, and posters you are requesting will create a visually engaging and supportive environment that raises awareness about breast cancer while making students feel connected to the cause. These items will provide hands-on opportunities to participate in activities, express solidarity, and promote understanding of breast cancer’s impact. The ribbons and stickers, for instance, can be worn as symbols of unity, encouraging students to share and reflect on the importance of early detection and community support. Posters will serve as constant reminders of breast cancer awareness and education, helping students absorb the information both visually and emotionally.
