Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am so proud of my students for their creativity, resilience, and strong sense of identity. Most of them come from Latinx backgrounds, bringing with them unique cultural traditions that add to the richness of our school community. I love how eager they are to learn and express themselves, especially when it comes to celebrating their heritage.

The face make-up kits I’m requesting will provide a hands-on, creative opportunity for students to engage with their cultural roots.

By incorporating these kits into our cultural events, students can visually represent their traditions, while also learning about the significance behind each symbol, color, or design they use. It’s a chance for them to connect with their culture in a way that’s personal and meaningful, all while enhancing their creative skills.

This project also supports their mental well-being. For many students, participating in cultural celebrations helps foster a sense of pride, belonging, and community. This not only builds their confidence but also contributes to a positive school climate where students feel safe and valued for who they are. Learning isn’t just about academics—it’s also about emotional growth and feeling connected to the world around them.

My goal is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to participate in these celebrations with the resources they need, and these make-up kits will allow them to fully embrace their traditions. This will not only deepen their understanding of their own culture but will also inspire creativity, learning, and unity within our school.
