Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 3rd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is made up of 70% ELL and 100% of them receive a free lunch and breakfast. .

I want to provide all the materials needed to help ensure that my future 3rd graders will have a positive and successful learning experience.

There is no better feeling as a teacher than when you do not have worry about providing your student with certain supplies. Being that my students come from low income households, many of them are not able to provide themselves with supplies needed to help them stay successful in school.

The folders will be used in the classroom to help students keep their paperwork organized and for easy transportation from classroom to classroom. The chairs and lap desk will be used as flexible seating.

Our school is very big on collaboration and team building. The amazing carpet I have added will allow students to sit all together on a carpet and enjoy a nice read aloud from one of our favorite books. I also love watching the kids after a long day find themselves relaxing on a the carpet while working on their assignments.

Lastly I have added fun math games that will help with student engagement during our math centers. The rest of the supplies will be used throughout the classroom to help ensure that we have a successful school year.
