Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach young adults with varying disabilities. Our Successful Transition Education Program for Students (STEPS) focuses on the development of employment and daily living skills. Having a scanner in class would allow me to teach them an important clerical work skill that is key for many jobs as well as for personal use.

Scanning and saving documents will be a useful skill for them to include in a resume for many basic clerical jobs.

It will allow them to continue to gain independence in many areas. My students range in age from 18 to 22 and leave school for the work force or further vocational training. Your help will allow them to grow to be working productive members of our society that feel purpose in employment.
