Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 9th graders are learning the necessary skills to become scientists and how science is everywhere around them. One key feature in science class are the ability to learn by doing labs. Labs are a great way for students to access complex scientific concepts in a visual and kinesthetic way. With the supplies listed I can create an organized system for students to stay up to date with their labs. So the small bins will be used for storing lab materials, the file folders will be used to keep their labs in an organized file cabinet, the sanitizing wipes are to ensure students are following safety and health protocols, the desk organizer is so each class has a designated place to submit their labs, the bulletin board roll will allow us to create more visuals to aid in student learning. These materials will alleviate a lot of anxiety students have towards the end of the school year about fulfilling their lab requirement for science class, and allows students to practice executive functioning skills to stay organized.
