Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a first year Autistic Support teacher for K-2nd in North Philadelphia and quickly learned about all the things my students could benefit from having in the classroom.

Working with individuals with autism means there is a lot of sensory seeking behaviors that are displayed and having weighted lap pads, books, and appropriate sensory fidgets will allow my students to have their sensory needs met.

I spend my afternoons teaching my class about various social emotional learning topics like being able to identify some different feelings that they may experience throughout the day. With some of the items on my wish list, I am able to effectively help my students learn safe coping strategies and increase knowledge of emotional awareness.

The disinfecting supplies will help us keep our room clean and germ-free.
