My Project

I am reaching out to you today with an exciting opportunity to support a project aimed at fostering empathy and understanding among our students. As a middle school librarian, I have witnessed firsthand the power of literature to spark meaningful conversations and promote empathy. Now, I am seeking your support for a special initiative titled "Empathy in Conflict: Exploring Israel and Palestine Through Literature." Students and teachers have been begging me for recent titles that go behind the headlines.

The goal of "Empathy in Conflict" is to build bridges of understanding by introducing students to a range of narratives that humanize individuals on all sides of the conflict.

In our school community, I believe it is essential to provide students with the resources they need to engage with this topic in a thoughtful and empathetic manner. Through carefully selected books, we can offer students the opportunity to explore the historical context, personal stories, and diverse perspectives that shape this conflict. By delving into these stories, students will develop a deeper appreciation for the complexities of the situation and cultivate empathy for those affected by it. Moreover, by fostering empathy and hope for the future, we can empower our students to become agents of positive change in their communities and beyond.
