Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are ambitious, goal-oriented, and full of questions! They love projects that are both challenging and engaging that allow them to think outside the box. My students come from a low social, economic background. More than 90% of our students receive free lunch. Despite the adversities, they come to school each day ready to try new things. They are my inspiration!

My Project

This year, besides focusing on our student's academic growth, we concentrate on Social-Emotional Learning activities. Many of my students have been personally affected by COVID-19. Some of my students have lost a family member. As part of Social-Emotional Learning for this upcoming school year, I want students to create meaningful artwork for themselves. We previously had funded a Cricut machine to do fun creative projects that will make our kids express their feelings through art and creativity. However, we still need some supplies to make this a reality.

By donating to our project, you will help support Social-Emotional Learning through art and creativity.

Students will be able to get creative and develop motor skills, social skills, and decision-making. Integrating art in my classroom will provide students the opportunity to challenge themselves and create.
