Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My special education classroom is in need of quality emotional regulation tools. I have selected a number of materials that will help my young students to self-regulate in times of high emotional or behavioral responses. Many of my students have behavioral and emotional support needs and goals.

Teaching young children to find tools that support self-regulation is an important part of educating the whole child.

In my classroom, I need to find more meaningful tools and materials that help my students to find what ways work best for them.

I have selected multiple seating supports for students with physical whole body needs, such as wiggle cushions and wobble chair feet for classroom chairs. I have also included a spinning chair for sensory input. I have included some sensory-based fidgets and Play-Doh, as well as some materials to create games, such as Jenga, for creating an emotional conversation game.
