My students are an amazing group of young men and women with moderate cognitive impairments at a center-based school. We work very hard on being the most independent versions of ourselves as well as working on life skills, adult living skills, and social skills! I love that my students may struggle with things we find simple, but they never give up! They are amazing and would be so thankful for the materials for our classroom! Thank you in advance.
My Project
My students struggle with emotional regulation and Identifying emotions in themselves and others. To be the best they can be and work towards living independently and acquiring jobs, they must learn social-emotional skills to help them navigate the real world. By using the materials I am asking for, we can work toward these goals in a fun and realistic way! We love learning about ourselves and others, and these materials will give us more real-world experience to better help us learn about the world around us. We would use the games in small groups and the mirrors to better understand how our facial expressions look when we feel certain ways.
