This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Some of my incoming 1st grade students will begin the new school year as new readers and will developing a love for many kinds of books. The primary grades are instrumental for fostering reading skills. The books in this project will help my kids build a solid foundation for their learning throughout school and beyond!
Students need a range of reading material to have choice and volume in what they are reading during their days at school.
Reading is a major part of 1st grade, and decodable readers based on phonics skills will help them to be confident and engaged during reading instruction. These books will be used in small reading groups based on student needs. I've also added folders to hold our work and Kleenex because you can never have enough for the winter months! Thank you for your support!
