My Students

I teach a diverse group of artistic students at a Title I visual and performing arts school in downtown Los Angeles. Students come from all over the city to our public high school to receive a top-notch education in both academics and their chosen art form (music, dance, visual arts or theater) and go on to study at some of the top academic colleges and art schools across the country.

My Fashion Club is very motivated to design and create this year are looking for creative projects that can be completed even when virtual.

My Project

My Fashion Club is amazing! They have been working very hard to develop projects for their members to work on whether we are virtual or in-person. The leaders of this club have been holding virtual meetings, teaching their members the proper techniques for drawing fashion figures, and partnering with the local Fashion college to promote scholarships and other opportunities for students to go into the Fashion industry.

This work is so important because my students are not only supporting historically underrepresented groups to pursue a career in the Fashion Industry, but they are developing their own leadership abilities which is incredibly important as our school works towards refining our goals of inclusion and diversity.

To support their work, these materials will also them to create embroidery kits for their members to work on at home as well as projects in jewelry making and crocheting- new skills they would love to learn as a group. Thank you for your consideration and support of my students!
