My Project

My students have always loved learning crafts, especially embroidery. In the beginning, they practice a wide range of stitches. Then they design and make their own patterns which show each student's interests and individuality. Students help each other learn stitches and they give each other feedback. The old fashioned idea of a sewing circle comes to life when we do crafts.

This year, I have 3 sections of crafts class and I realized I don't have enough hoops!

I need 40 more hoops so everybody gets their own to work with. I also need more muslin fabric to work on. Sharing hoops risks projects getting damaged and takes time away from working.

Once we are finished with embroidery, the hoops can be turned into silkscreens. We'll place silkscreen fabric into the hoops and print stencils students make. Having these hoops will be a huge help to us!
