Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

A document camera enables all students to see hands-on learning being modeled by the teacher. Whether the teacher is modeling how to divide whole numbers or how to measure, the document camera will project onto the board what is happening, so all students can see it. This is also a valuable tool when teaching ELA. Teachers can model how to annotate a text or project the words onto the screen.

This will help foster a collaborative and interactive classroom environment where students actively participate and share their work.

This ELMO document camera will make an enormous impact on student learning in my classroom. Unfortunately, the cheaper document cameras either refocus (causing blurriness) every time a hand or paper is moved under the camera...or they don't fit the entire paper under the camera. It's very frustrating for students!

This document camera will allow me to project what I'm doing onto a large screen so that students can follow along anywhere in the classroom. I can demonstrate how to solve a problem by simply working out the problem under the camera and projecting it onto the screen. I will be able to model the desired skill for my students!

This document camera would positively change everything for my students! Teacher modeling is so important to student learning! All classrooms need this tool. Please help my third graders obtain a document camera for our classroom this year.
