Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are non-English speakers. Many of them come to school with no phonics or pre literacy skills. I want to purchase hands on manipulatives to teach them mathematics and thematic units (plants, clothing, animal habitats). They enjoy doing activities.

My Project

All of my students are non English-speaking. They would benefit from materials that have realia and/or hands on activities. From PreK to 5th grade they are curious and are eager to learn. The materials I'm requesting are engaging. My English-speaking learners benefit from visuals, hands on activities. Some of the materials will be available for families to borrow. Students will learn about Mathematics (counting, sorting, graphing). In reading they will learn letters, sounds, sight words. The main goal is for them to have a variety of materials to use at school/home.
