My Students

Our school has about 240 students who study from 3K to 5th grade. Most of them are African American and Hispanic children. Most of them come from low-income families.

They are nice and respectful when they interact with other people.

They smile at people when they meet people in the morning. Some of them are struggling in math and English, but they work very hard to overcome the challenges. It is my pleasure to be their teacher in the school this year.

My Project

About 75% of parents in my school choose fully remote learning for their children because they fear the scary COVID-19. I have distributed some headphones to students, but many students still don't have headphones at home. Many students live with their brothers and sisters in shelters, and their parents lost their jobs. They don't have money to purchase headphones for their children. The students are suffering from economic disadvantages and emotional challenges from the COVID-19. They are stressed, scared, and frustrated as they watch the news. They need headphones to listen to online books on myon.com, watch educational videos on getepic.com, and complete math and reading lessons on iReady.com without distractions. Please help my students to stay positive and keep learning in this tough time. Thank you.
