Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a new school counselor in an urban school district, I work with over 600 students with varying needs, supports, and interventions.

My goal is to create a safe, interactive space where students can utilize toys, games, and activities as self-regulating strategies and positive breaks throughout the academic day.

My school building is roughly 120 years old, so incorporating colorful, inviting decorations is also essential in creating a welcoming community space. My co-staff and I are really eager to start working with all of our students in a newly renovated space!
