My Project

My elementary students are thrilled they were able to be back in our art studio! They have great ideas and love to express themselves through visual art. I gave them a survey during the first day of school, and they ALL voted sculpture as their first choice of art making.

Besides clay, I use other media, such as recycled paper and plastic.

In addition, I would also like to create sculptures with aluminum foil and plaster cloth. Both media can be easily manipulated, especially by students with special needs. In addition, they are great media for teaching movement, texture, balance and line. As we explored this type of sculpture with my students, they became absolutely fascinated and cannot wait to begin working on their sculptures!
