My Students

My students are eager learners who are excited about our new hands-on physics class. In my classes we explore and engage in physical concepts through completing hands-on projects. These projects are inquiry- based lessons, that include discussions and applying the material they learn to case studies. My students will collaborate to make sense of the material and concepts in groups and will develop the models that form the content of the scientific disciplines. Students from all different levels collaboratively work to test their skills and ingenuity.

My students are from diverse backgrounds: girls, minorities, immigrants, and students with disabilities.

We are a large school that serves 4,000 students; all from diverse backgrounds. Our school is the most diverse school in our state and we take pride in CARE-ing about our students. We believe that we should: C-Challenge students, A-Achieve academic excellence, R-Respect differences, E-Engage all students in the learning process.

My Project

These electricity kits will bring learning to my students. This year with remote learning the ability for my students to work on hands- on projects were disturbed. However, I want them to continue so I am requesting these kits. Please help me bring learning to my students by giving them the electricity kits that they need.

These kits will help them continue learning through hands-on projects if we ever go into remote learning again.

Students learn electricity best by investigating through hands-on projects. They need these kits so that they can investigate how electricity works. Many students do not know how to light a bulb using a battery and wire. The investigation becomes more meaningful when they can do this hands- on. They will learn how electricity flows by using these kits.
