My Project
Have you ever heard of a stapler fight? Well, this is a new phenomenon that has brought about the untimely disappearance of nearly every stapler in my school. There was once a time when I could leave two or three hand-held staplers on the table nearest the classroom door, and students could use them to staple their work without issue. This school year, that reality has changed. One day, I noticed that all of my staplers were missing. Other teachers had the same experience. We realized that the students were using the staplers for staple fights around the building. This is a dangerously annoying situation. I literally have to put my last stapler in my pocket and carry it with me all day long in order to prevent its theft.
It occurred to me that if I was about to acquire plug-in, electric staplers, my students could not participate in stapler fights because they cannot be pulled apart and fired at other students.
I did not realize how expensive how expensive electric staplers were, but upon researching the prices, I became discouraged. This project would help me to ensure that students can staple their work, that I can staple whenever I need, and that the students have to move on when tempted to take my staplers for improper use.
