My Students

Our classroom has been greatly affected since the onset of this pandemic and the closure of our school. We have been using our scarce resources, first, to come together again as a virtual classroom. We have had to share WiFi, devices, and classroom basics with families that are not able to afford them due to their sudden hardships. We are making the best of a bad situation.

My Project

In this difficult time, I want to provide our classroom with updated technology accessories such as the noise cancelling headphones to be able to use in hearing my voice when providing instruction on equity, inclusion and antiracism.

We live in a world, where not every child is given the same opportunities to thrive and if I can help support their learning by providing a few of my students with headphones, so they are able to listen to me without any other teachers' voices, I want to do that for them.

This pandemic has affected our students' learning and social emotional well being so much. There are so many distractions and interruptions at their homes. They do not have the luxury of sitting in a quiet room all by themselves. Majority of the families at my school have multiple children attending the same school and the kids can hear their siblings' teacher talking throughout the day. The noise cancelling headphones will greatly increase their focus and be able to concentrate on only one voice, their teachers! Please please please help support this cause as I push through the pandemic and provide critical thinking skills using current social injustices that are happening all around our country.
