Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The basic classroom materials and resources I am requesting will help my ELD and regular education students to implement their creativity and writing in class. Along with helping in daily classroom assignments.

The English/Spanish Dictionaries and First Learning Library will be used daily to help my English Language Development students build their vocabulary skills.

This will better prepare them to be confident in using correct sentence structure. The other books will be used to help gain interest in reading for my students who are two or more years behind in their reading abilities. Of the approximate 180 students a day that I teach reading to, many of the on-line or virtual websites we use have multiple log in accounts. The laminating machine will help make cards that cannot be ripped or destroyed of usernames and passwords. I will also be able to laminate worksheets where students can use expo markers to write on them over and over again.

There are numerous students I teach that do not have basic school supplies such as pencils. The pencil sharpener gets used multiple times within each class daily. I need to add a second sharpener to minimize the use of just one in my classroom.

I like to give my students a variety of ways they can express their writing and be creative. I have talented and artistic students in my classroom. The construction paper will help these students be unique in their creativity and be able to combine their writing with drawing skills.

I am very excited for the students to use these resources to increase their vocabulary and be able to write more expressively. I cannot wait to see their uniqueness shine through! I love how excited the students are when they get to share their projects!
