My Project

I am so excited to meet my students and start a new school year! This year, my district is implementing a new ELA curriculum. I need to provide book storage for students and create anchor charts frequently. I will use the magazine holders to store our ELA notebooks and books, which will keep everything organized and protected from messy desks. The poster-sized Post Its will be great for making anchor charts that can be displayed around the room.

My biggest goal for this year is to create a positive learning environment with strong classroom management.

One way I can achieve that is by moving around my room more freely. A portable standing desk will allow me to use my computer from any area of the classroom, which helps me keep negative behavior to a minimum. I also believe that a great learning environment is created with preparation. Having supplies like pencils, erasers, and a sturdy pencil sharpener will help students be prepared and ready to learn.

Finally, my students will compete in a school Battle of the Books competition at the end of the year. I love to have a copy of each book in our classroom library so they are visible and easily accessible for my students. The more they are exposed to them, the more likely they are to reach for them.
