My Project
I teach ELA and Health at a high school in Oahu. This project prioritizes classroom culture. Many of my students can't focus because they're hungry, so snacks will help us to approach learning with more focus. The posters are included because our ELA class relies on these concepts daily and I like having them on the wall for students to reference. I included the books because my classroom is lacking Hawaiian novels and books that reflect my students' experiences. The speaker in my classroom is very quiet and difficult to hear, so a new speaker will allow my class to use videos and music in our lessons. The emotions wheel will be helpful for my health class's emotional health unit. It's important to me to have a welcoming and safe classroom environment. I want all of my students to feel at home and taken-care-of in my class. These items will help me to accomplish this. Thank you for considering my project!
