Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The delivery of these materials will allow me to organize my classroom in a manner that is more efficient for my students to choose books to read from our classroom library. They will more easily be able to select books that are on their reading level. By using the bookends, they will be sectioned and divided more appropriately by ease (or difficulty). Students will also use consumable materials to summarize their readings as a whole group by writing ideas to brainstorm for essays through which they hone their skills in summarization, vocabulary, and writing.

Because this is a language classroom, many times students lack motivation to learn and do not understand how to attack a problem for the sake of long-term learning.

For this reason, I will incorporate quotes and passages from the book Mastery to inspire and teach students in the arena of how to complete language tasks for long-term learning, mastery, and their own personal benefit as is applicable in life outside the classroom.
