Here in small-town Alden, Iowa, I am fortunate enough to be a School Counselor for our fantastic, flexible, innovative elementary school.

Our students are fluent in the Leader in Me program. They learn every day how powerful each and every one of them truly is, and how they are leading our future.

My Project
These materials will help students effectively express their emotions in a positive manner. The dolls and doll furniture are inclusive to support diversities and the sand trays and sand are an absolute favorite.
These materials will not only show my students the importance of expressing how you're feeling, but how important it is to do so in an effective, positive way.
You don't get in trouble for feeling a feeling. You might get in trouble for a choice, but not for your feeling.
While using these materials, I will be aiding my students in productive conversation skills such as active listening and appropriate responses while encouraging them to accept the feelings they feel.
