Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 4th and 5th graders(and sometimes 3rd graders) are approaching an important time in their lives, the big "P" word; PUBERTY! This transition for children is difficult as is, but it is especially so for many of my students, as not all of them have access to the products that can mitigate the problems that come up during this transition period, which can lead to embarrassment, low self esteem, overall low confidence.

By giving the students easy access to deodorant, menstrual hygiene products, soaps, and dental hygiene products, I believe that my students will have the confidence boost they need to succeed and be able to focus on their academics.

My hope is that by being able to provide access to basic hygiene, all of my students will have a positive sense of self worth, believe in themselves, and have the mental space to be able set goals and plans do anything they set their minds to without having to worry about if they smell bad, causing social distress.

Our school is like a family and we help out our students where we can, but we need help in providing resources and products. Most of my students come from low income families and this donation would be greatly appreciated and utilized by our students. Please help us help our students achieve their highest potential!
