This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology continues to evolve faster than our budgets can keep up. The television in our room is many years old. The picture is fuzzy and we are still watching VHS because there is no input for a DVD player. Please bring us into the 21st century!

My students face many challenges due to a variety of disabling conditions, yet they come to school daily with a smile and and excitement about learning.

They work hard and want to learn new things. This isn't always easy when you are affected by extreme poverty, learning disabilities, and a lack of educational resources. My Title One, inner city school is broke yet my students and I persevere and find educational success on a daily basis.

My Project

My students need a television. I plan to use this television to enrich my students' learning by watching videos that go along with the content I am teaching at the time. There are so many videos that bring the content to life for students instead of just seeing pictures in a book. I also intend to use the television for fun days when it is raining outside and can't go out for recess. Since we do not have a gym to use, we will exercise and play Wii Fit on harsh weather days.

This television will greatly enhance my students' learning by bringing the educational content to life.

Also, they will have a way to have some fun and physical activity on those bad weather days that will force them to stay in our classroom since we do not have a gymnasium. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
