Help Ms. Foreman

This educational safari is for the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who enter my classroom on a daily basis at the alternative school in which I teach. For years I have tried to get resources but never seemed to have enough to do the activities and set up my room the way that is inviting for children. The periodic wall chart and playing cards will give my students a working knowledge of the periodic table. The tuning fork will be used when we start our unit on sound and waves. Safety is certainly an issue when we are completing our hands-on activities, therefore the safety glasses are a must-have. The students in which I teach need to come to a classroom that is exciting and stimulating. I am tired of my dull classroom!! I want students to walk in and not want to sit down because there are so many things to do. I want them to take responsibility for the wildlife that will be in the classroom, I want them to check on them everyday. I want to set up several aquariums with different types of plant and animal life. I also want the students to try different horticulture experiments with many types of seeds. I want to set up an area for reading scientific literature with the planetary rug as a centerpiece. This year I want my students to love coming to my room because it is comfortable, pleasing to the eye and they know they will have fun while learning. Thank you.
